Arts Quarter Launches 3rd Economic Impacts Survey 11th August - 15th September 2010 Following the publication of its two reports on the impacts of the recession on the cultural and wider not-for-profit sectors in 2009, Arts Quarter is now repeating its online survey a year on from conducting its second such survey in order to continue to plot the ongoing affects of the current economic climate on these two sectors. In launching this new on-line survey, John Nicholls, managing partner of AQ commented, 'While the news media now talks of the UK economy being in recovery, it is clear that the cultural and wider charitable sectors are continuing to face many issues and we hope that this 3rd Survey will allow organisations to share their experiences and insights in what is likely to be a critical period for the evolution of these sectors as we await the findings of the Government's Comprehensive Spending Review. 'Some 500 organisations took part in our last such survey and we hope that many more will do so this time in order to send a clear message to key decision makers about the current state of these sectors' revenue streams as we look to plot comprehensively the affects of the recession and its aftermath.' In anticipation of some of the outcomes of the CSR to be announced in October, this survey also invites respondents to share views on Government policy and create a new political agenda for the arts and charitable sectors at large. The findings of this Survey will be published free of charge at the time that the CSR findings are to be announced in the hope of adding to the debate at that time. With wide-spread participation by the cultural community and other not-for profits, all communities will be able to benchmark their own performance once again.
