Intellectual Property Rights Forum Launched |
8:30am - 10:00 am, Tuesday 23rd September 2008 |
Arts Quarter LLP has teamed up with leading law firm Lewis Silkin to create an opportunity for senior figures from within the cultural and not-for-profit sectors to learn more about how to secure and manage the intellectual assets created by their organisations, how firstly to secure and protect them and how to look at ways of generating appropriate revenue streams from them thereafter. The AQ IPR Forum is open to a maximum of 20 participant organisations and while this is the first meeting of its kind, we are aiming to create group which meets from time to time to understand better current best practice in this important area, to share learnings with each other as well as hear from visiting experts and members of the corporate community about their own experiences. All meetings will take place under The Chatham House Rule so as to maintain strict confidentiality and allow absolute freedom of discussion and sharing of ideas. To clarify - The Chatham House Rule reads as follows: "When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed". Above all, the IPR Forum will be a place where participants will be expected to actively share issues either directly or through the Chair anonymously and explore solutions with experts. While this first gathering will be free-of-charge to participants, should further meetings take place, AQ will look to levy a modest fee per head to cover administration and incidental costs. Giles Crown, Head of Media, Brands and Technology at Lewis Silkin and John Nicholls Managing Partner of Arts Quarter will Co-chair this first session. If you wish to attend this meeting RSVP by clicking here Places will be allocated on a first come-first-served basis. To find out more about Lewis Silkin, click here |
